Summary

What is not required:

  1. Studying 10 hours a day
  2. Refer packages from coaching institutes, lot of books
  3. Solve problems from a lot of books
  4. Solving NEET/AIPMT papers of last 20 years
Why? Because no one has this much time!!
What is required instead is:
  1. Reading NCERT book: 3 hours/chapter
  2. Watching NEETPrep Videos (to build concepts explained in NCERT book & develop problem solving skills): 7 hours/chapter
  3. Practicing 100 problems in each of the 97 chapters in NEET syllabus: 5 hours/chapter
Therefore, for each of the 97 chapters, you need to study 15 hours/chapter on an average. If you study for 2 years regularly, this comes out to be 3 hours every day (and not 10 hours which everyone around you tell you)

Summary

NEETPrep videos are focussed towards developing problem solving skills for NEET exam.

So two things need to be remembered:

  1. NEETPrep Videos are not replacement for NCERT books. You should read the book first before watching the videos. Videos have detailed explanation of the concepts in the NCERT along with problem solving
  2. While watching videos, you should take notes as if the teacher is in front of you in a class. These notes help you remember and are easy reference material to revise before the exam
If you do the above two things properly, you don't need any other reference material. Let us see how to watch the videos and take notes in the video

Summary

NEETPrep platform has more than 100 questions in every chapter. These are enough question every chapter to get into NEET. The challenge you might face is that you have to watch them on your computer/laptop or mobile to practice. If you find that uncomfortable, we recommend three books (one each in Physics, Chemistry & Biology) to practice questions:

Physics
Errorless (Volume 1 & 2)
Publisher: Universal

Chemistry
Dr. P Bahadur
Publisher: GRB

Biology

Summary

There are no short cuts and you should study every chapter. No one knows from which chapters how many questions will come. So, it is important to read NCERT, watch NEETPrep Videos and practice 100 problems in each chapter.

Specifically, with respect to the exam, the only way you can get 550+ (score required in NEET 2017 to get into government medical college) is the following:

  1. First attempt 90 questions in Biology paper in 50 minutes and score at least 300 marks
  2. Next attempt 45 questions in Chemistry in 60 minutes and score at least 140 marks
  3. Finally, attempt 45 questions in Physics in 70 minutes and score at least 110 marks

Most students ignore Biology thinking that Bio is easy. They will crack it anyways. Most end up scoring 200 in Biology. 200 in Bio means you will definitely not get a government college. 300 marks in Biology require a lot of effort and therefore, you should put in a lot of effort in Bio.

Summary

How you do in NEET exam depends on two things:

  1. How well you have prepared (NCERT book + NEETPrep Videos + 100 questions per chapter)
  2. How well you have practiced sitting at one place for 3 hours and attempted all 180 questions in the right sequence (we recommend attempting Bio first, Chem second and Physics third)

You should attempt at least 10 full tests before going into NEET exam. These tests can be done every 15 days so that you get time to prepare for those chapters where you did not do well.

Mock Test Series of NEETPrep starts in 1st week of February and one mock test happens every 15 days till NEET exam in May.

Summary

While a lot of problems in NEET would be very simple, it is important to know the concepts while solving problems. Facebook page of NEETPrep (www.facebook.com/neetonline) starts conducting concept building sessions from February onwards for NEET exam in May. These sessions cover important concepts in each chapter and then how to use these concepts to solve problems. Students are live and can ask questions if they require NEETPrep faculty to repeat any of the concepts again.
